Greg Marty, Certified Fire Investigator

Greg has served nearly 23 years as a career firefighter, and for the past 10 years has served as Fire Marshal, leading a team of fire and arson investigators.  He has been a fire investigator since 2011 and an arson investigator since 2015.  Greg has conducted both criminal and civil fire investigations, and has courtroom experience testifying as an expert in fire origin and cause.  He has a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and earned the National Fire Academy, Fire Administration and Management designation. Greg is a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) by the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) as well as a Certified Fire and Explosion (CFEI) Investigator by the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI).  He is a Certified Plans Examiner by the National Fire Protection Association, and he has extensive knowledge and background of building construction and code requirements.  In addition, Greg is certified as both an Arson Investigator and Fire Investigator by the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
